Lemon :Discontinue the habit of smoking and tobacco chewing and whenever the urge to smoke or chew tobacco is too strong suck a lemon. Put a few drops of lemon on the tongue to create a sour taste in the mouth. It will put a check on the urge. Use lemon as often as required.

Aniseed : If you want to give up smoking, use aniseed. Fry aniseed in clarified butter and store in a bottle. Whenever the urge to smoke overtakes you, chew half a tsp. of the aniseed. It kills the urge to smoke. Also try to keep control over your desire.

Caraway seeds : Take 50 gms. each of caraway seeds and aniseed, mix black salt to taste, soak in lemon juice and stir well with a spoon. Let them dry in the shade. Then roast on a hot plate. Whenever you feel like smoking or chewing tobacco, chew half a tsp. of the above mixture. You will be able to give up the habit of smoking. It will also cure flatulence, strengthen the digestive system and improve appetite. It is an effective recipe for flatulence and wind related problems.

Hari om : Get up early in the morning. Sit down on the bed and say to yourself with firm determination that you will smoke two cigarettes or bidis less today. Repeat the words Hari om – om – om .Try this experiment for 12 days. You will be able to quit smoking.
